​Due to exceptionally high demand and extended periods of inclement weather slowing student progression, Island Air Flight School is temporarily suspending the following waitlists and we will not be accepting new students on the following:

​

• Private Pilot Licence (PPL) & REC
• Introductory Flights
•Check Outs for New Customers to Island Air

 

We are conducting a full audit of our current waitlist and restructuring our waitlist procedure to ensure our existing students receive the highest standard of instruction and a consistent flow of the waitlist resulting in quicker wait times.

 

Important:

• Students currently on the waitlist will be prioritized.

• Students enrolled in Ground School at Island Air are exempt.

• We anticipate this process will continue until the end of March. Further updates will follow.

We apologize for this inconvenience and will have an update at the end of March 2026.

 

Serious About Starting?

We strongly encourage prospective students to obtain their Transport Canada Aviation Medical Certificate during this time. A minimum Category 3 Medical is required for a PPL & REC. Processing times can take several weeks, and we will be unable to process your Student Pilot Permit without a medical.

 

Completing your medical now will position you for faster onboarding when enrolment reopens and will be a requirement when the waitlist reopens.
