Direction to New Students
Waitlist Prerequisites
We are truly grateful for your interest in pursuing your Private Pilot training with Island Air. Due to a significant influx of students and high training demand, we are only accepting new students for in-flight Private Pilot training if you have the prerequisites below

Completed a Category 3 Medical or higher and have already obtained the medical certificate in the mail.

Completed the ROC-A Radio Exam at Island Air or currently hold a ROC-A radio license.

Completed the PSTAR Exam or currently hold a Student Pilot Permit.
Both exams are available for walk-in at the flight school and do not require any scheduled appointment. Have a look at our student resource page to assist you in success. Please ensure you pay the fee after the exam in order for your application to be filed and processed in a timely manner.
Please inform us if you satisfy the prerequisites and we will admit you to the waitlist. Students who have taken Ground School at Island Air and satisfy the requirements above will have priority over students that have not taken Ground School at Island Air.
